Done Deals

• Greenhill Capital Partners Europe has invested an undisclosed sum in Travel Entertainment Group, and will become a minority shareholder in the company

• The Stirrup Restaurant in the Bronte village of Howarth, has been sold to London restaurateur Polly Costin

• Geochemical company Alex Stewart Group has acquired Eco Tech Laboratory, a Canadian firm which provides services to the Canadian mining industry. The fee was undisclosed

• AIM-listed Wyatt Group has acquired specialist benefits consultancy, TEBC for an initial consideration of £150,000, plus two deferred payments of £75,000 to be made on the first and second anniversaries of deal completion.

• Freeplay Energy has sold its Freeplay division to Devinder Raj Narang for $14.5 million (£7.4 million). Freeplay has also changed its corporate name to Fieldbury Plc

• The Economimst Group has bought online technology firm Capitol Advantage for $43 million (£21.8 million)

In the pipeline

• German turnaround firm Arques Industries has acquired 80 per cent of Siemens mobile phone division for an undisclosed amount. The deal is expected to complete by October

• Qinetiq, a British defence technology company, has agreed to buy Virginia-based Dominion Technology for $104.5 million (£53 million)

• HSBC is still in talks with US private equity firm Lone Star, about the 51 per cent stake it plans to acquire in Korea Exchange Bank

• Private equity house Stone Point Capital is in negotiations to buy a stake in Lloyd’s broker RK Carvill
