Investors are circling disadvantaged sellers

Real estate investors with cash in the bank are taking advantage of the stricken market to build their portfolios, according to new research.

The recent report from the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, which polled estate agents, revealed that the few buyers left in the market are picking up huge discounts.

A property adviser in the West Midlands, Prem Busra, said real estate owners who are looking to sell are sceptical about the long-term situation. “They are accepting offers well below the asking price because they believe the value of their property will continue to fall.

“Investors are still buying and they’ll never stop buying, they are taking advantage of situations where people want to sell quickly and cheap repossession properties.”
