Crane firm buys James Jack

Ainscough Crane Hire has acquired Aberdeen-based James Jack Lifting Services for an undisclosed sum. The purchase of James Jack, which also has operations in Invergordon, Dundee and Grangemouth, was backed by Bank of Scotland.

Anderson Anderson & Brown acted as finance adviser to James Jack. The team was led by Mike Brown, head of corporate finance, and Douglas Martin, corporate finance senior manager.

“James Jack has a strong brand and reputation in the Scottish crane hire market and is an excellent fit for Ainscough as the market leader in the UK. As part of Ainscough, James Jack is well positioned to capitalise on its strong market position and expand its offering with existing and potential new customers,” said Brown.

McGrigors offered legal advice to the vendor.

Anderson Anderson & Brown’s services include deal initiation; mergers; acquisitions; disposals; MBOs; MBIs; fund raising; refinancing; business plans; share and business valuations; corporate transaction taxation advice; due diligence; corporate strategy; and exit strategy planning
