Civica Group buys in4tek
Civica Group has acquired in4tek, which specialises in software for the healthcare sector, for an undisclosed sum.
Cheshire-based In4tek's products are used by health service providers and local authorities across the UK and Canada. The acquisition expands Civica's product range, which provides software to local government, social housing and education organisations. The company has 1,800 customers across the world and generated a turnover of £127 million in 2008.
Simon Downing, chief executive of Civica, said: 'In4tek’s customer base, skills and product set extend our capability within an increasingly active health market at a critical time both in the UK and internationally.'
Advisory firm HMT Corporate Finance advised the shareholders on in4tek in the deal. The team was led by partner Peter Barrand and manager Ashish Patel.
Barrand said: 'This transaction has allowed the existing shareholders to realise significant value from the business and also allows the ongoing management team to play a major role within the enlarged group.'
