Vertu buys Crown Motors
Vertu Motors Plc, a UK motor retailer, has acquired the Ilford Vauxhall and Chevrolet dealerships from Crown Motors (Dagenham) for some £0.08 million in cash.
The Ilford business complements Vertu's newly opened Vauxhall operation in Waltham Cross and brings the company's total number of Vauxhall dealerships to six. The deal is also Vertu's first Chevrolet franchise.
Vertu CEO Robert Forrester said: 'We are pleased to add a further business to the Group bringing our total number of dealerships up to 52. The acquisition strengthens the regional concentration of the Bristol Street Motors brand in the London area and complements our existing businesses in Waltham Cross, Harlow, Bromley and Orpington.'
Morrisons Solicitors LLP acted for the seller, Crown Motors, in the deal. The team was led by senior partner Richard Rose and associate Natalie Wood, who were assisted in employment and property issues by David Seals, Sofia Syed and Hugh Campbell.
Rose commented: 'The directors of Crown felt that the sale to Vertu was the best way forward, securing the jobs of all the employees based at Ilford.'
