Ultra’s £12.5m buy
Done deals:
- Ultra Electronics has bought BCF Designs for £12.5 million. The enlarged aerospace test equipment supplier has been renamed Ultra-BCF
- The management at advertising agency McKinney has bought the firm back from French conglomerate Havas
- Greenstar has acquired Leicester Paper Resources to create an enlarged waste management firm
- Travel technology company Comtec has bought travel web-design agency Jamber, its first buy after M&A Magazine reported its intentions to acquire after a recent management buy-out
- Universal Office Products has made its first purchase, of Commerce 3, a rival office products supplies with a turnover of around £300,000
- Accountancy practice Martin Aitken & Co has acquired its rival AS Fisher & Co
Deals in the pipeline:
- Domino Printing Sciences is to acquire Photon Energy, a German manufacturer of solid state laser sources, for £3.2 million
- Renold plc is to buy a 75 per cent stake in Indian chain manufacturer LG Balakrishnan, the Indian chain manufacturer, for £5 million
- Leekes Group has agreed a £38 million funding deal with Barclays to expand its retail and leisure operations
- Road freight company Gunns Transport has undergone a £3.5 million management buy-out backed by Lloyds TSB
