AMEC in $85m
US buy-out

Done deals:

  • Engineering group AMEC plc has purchased US company Geomatrix Consultants for $85 million (£43 million) in order to strengthen its consulting capability in the environmental remediation, seismic and groundwater sectors


Deals in the pipeline:

 

  • Industrial engineer Renold plc is set to acquire 75 per cent of the industrial supply business of LG Balakrishnan & Bros

  • First London Securities plc, a merchant bank, has agreed to acquire the financial services operations and management operations of Jersey-based Belgravia Financial Services Group
  • Private equity groups GMT Communications Partners and US-based Peacock Equity Fund are set to acquire German online games developer Bigpoint for €70 million (£56 million)
