Q&A: Publishing useful links on websites
Q: We publish links to other firms on our website. Is it advisable to include a disclaimer on our site to avoid possible legal issues and, if so, what should it cover?
Answered by Phil Verity, Mazars
Links to other companies generally don’t cause any problems, however legal issues do exist around some connections. There are rules around defamation, trademark infringements and passing off someone else’s work as your own, so it’s worth talking to your lawyer about the legal implications of linking to other pages.
