iXpert receives £100,000

iXpert, a developer of software to assist lawyers with personal injury claims, has secured a six-figure investment from a consortium led by the Merseyside Special Investment Fund (MSIF). The company has received £100,000 from MSIF, The Royal Bank of Scotland and investor Business Liverpool.

MSIF’s investment included a £25,000 loan from its Small Firms Fund, which was co-ordinated by manager Alan Birkett.

Liverpool-based iXpert’s software, the Medical Network System, enables lawyers to instruct health professionals when dealing with personal injury claims without using an agency.

iXpert will use the cash to expand its business by hiring more staff and to market the Medical Network System nationally.

The company, which has seven employees, was established in 2004 by managing director Jason Moorcroft.

The Medical Network System offers online appointment booking, a tracking service to monitor progress and a rating guide that grades the quality of each expert’s report. Health professionals pay an annual subscription to be included on the panel but the system is free to lawyers.
