Bespoke Hotels rescues Folio

Bespoke Hotels has bought 13 Folio Hotels out of administration. Folio’s management team are in talks to acquire the remaining hotels and the Folio name. The rescued hotel group, which specialises in weddings has 36 properties including Makeney Hall in Derbyshire.

Avacta Group Plc, the Leeds University spin-out that helps biopharmaceutical companies get their products to market, has acquired diagnostics specialist Curidium. The all-share deal values Curidium at £6.18 million.

Stroz Friedberg, a technical consulting and services firm specialising in digital forensics based in the US, has acquired Data Genetics International, a UK computer forensics company. The financial details of the transaction have not been revealed.

North West telecoms company Inter-Group Communications has acquired Bristol-based rival Budd communications in an undisclosed deal backed by Royal Bank of Scotland. The transaction will swell the new group’s turnover to £3.6 million.

DCC, the publicly traded conglomerate based in Dublin, has acquired the fuel-card business of UK-based Cooke Holdings for €10.1 million (£8.9 million) to strengthen its position in the energy sector.

TradeLabs, a technology-based business that owns and exploits fully automated trading software trading securities and runs its own proprietary trading desk, has joined PLUS Markets.

Comply Serve, a “software as a service” business delivering a compliance system to the rail infrastructure industry based in Birmingham, has secured £800,000 from Catapult Venture Managers.

The Local Radio Company has announced that has begun talks regarding the proposed disposal of Jazz FM with a consortium headed by former LRC non-executive director Richard Wheatly.
