Done Deals
• Northern Ireland-based software house First Derivatives has bought US technology marketing company Market Resource Partners for $20 million (£11.1 million)
• Omgeo, a global standard for post-trade efficiency, has acquired Allustra, a London-based provider of collateral management solutions, for an undisclosed sum
• Adobe Systems has bought YaWah, a European imaging software provider based in Denmark
• Bank Leumi has sold its remaining 2.23 per cent stake in Cellcom Israel for 236.7 million shekels (£36.7 million)
• High-Tech Gründerfonds and Zukunftsfonds Heilbronn have invested an undisclosed sum in start-up company Enymotion, a developer of mobile fuel cell systems
• Emerald Technology Ventures has sold its stake in Ormecon, an advanced materials company, for an undisclosed sum to Enthone
• US-based Quest Software has acquired NetPro Computing, a developer of infrastructure optimisation software, for an estimated $78.7 million (£43.8 million)
In the pipeline
• Creston, a marketing services group, is in talks that could lead to a private equity-backed management buy-out of the business
• UTEK Corp has agreed to acquire all the outstanding stock of Social Technologies Group Inc, a provider of research and consulting services, in exchange for $5 million (£2.8 million) in shares
• Energy West has agreed to acquire Orwell Natural Gas, a provider of natural gas distribution services. Concurrently, Energy West has also agreed to acquire Northeast Ohio Natural Gas and Brainard Natural Gas. The three transactions are valued at $34.3 million (£19.1 million)
• Temple Real Estate Investment Trust has agreed to acquire Capri Centre, an owner and operator of hotels, from RG Properties for $37.3 million (£20.8 million)
• Market rumours suggests that Bain Capital Partner’s portfolio company Teamsystem-Lince and Clessidra are interested in making a joint bid for economic data provider Cerved
• Airbus is selling part of its wing-components site to British engineering and automotive parts group GKN, in a deal valued at £136 million
• Billionaire Mike Ashley is set to sell his interest in Newcastle United just 16 months after staging a £134.4 million takeover
• Germany’s BASF plans to buy Switzerland's Ciba Specialty Chemicals for 3.9 billion (£3 billion). Ciba's board has recommended that the owners accept the offer
• Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP and Hölters & Elsing have announced that the partnerships of both firms have agreed to merge
• First Communications and Renaissance Acquisition Corp announced today that they have signed a definitive merger agreement through which First Communications intends to access the US public markets
• Castle Donington-based airline BMI was keeping quiet over reports it had been in merger talks with a Middle Eastern Airline. United Arab Emirates airline Etihad has reportedly been in talks with BMI over a merger that would value the UK carrier at up to £600 million
