• Securitas has bought Serbian peer SCP International as part of a strategy to grow in Eastern Europe. The deal amount was undisclosed

• Reservoir Group has acquired Australia-based drilling tools maker Extreme Machining for an undisclosed sum

• US-based distributor of business products United Stationers, has completed the purchase of Emco Distribution for an undisclosed sum

• Irish supermarket group Superquinn has reportedly received six expressions of interest from potential bidders, including UK supermarkets ASDA and J Sainsbury

• Tegal Corporation, a designer and manufacturer of plasma etch and deposition systems, has announced an agreement with Alcatel Micro Machining Systems and Alcatel-Lucent to acquire their Deep Reactive Ion Etch for $5 million (£2.8 million)

• Coca-Cola is to pay up to $2.5 billion (£1.4 billion) for Chinese juice maker Huiyuan which will strengthen its hold on a booming market, and will also be the largest acquisition by a foreign company in China
