Oaktree buys Polish firm
One of Poland’s largest alcoholic beverage producers has been taken private in a deal backed by investment fund Oaktree Capital Management LLC.
Zaklady Przemyslu Spirytusowego, which includes flavoured vodka Zoladkowa Gorzka among its brands, is in the process of de-listing from the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
Oaktree was advised on the Polish aspects of the deal by law firm Wierciñski, Kwieciñski, Baehr.
The firm, led by senior partner Andrzej Wierciñski, assisted Oaktree in achieving the consent of the Polish Anti-Trust Office, among other matters. “Oaktree now holds 100% of shares in the business following a squeeze out and the formal process of de-listing has started,” Wierciñski said.
