Done deals:

  • Inflexion Private Equity has acquired SMD, a supplier of remote controlled subsea vehicle systems

  • Property owner and manager Peverel has acquired estate agent Farleys from the Humberts Group plc for £424,500

  • Builders merchant and DIY retailer Travis Perkins plc has added tiling specialist Tile It All to its operations

  • 3i bought a minority stake in insurance group Hyperion for £50 million, which is valued at approximately £120 million

  • Hargreaves Services plc, a services supplier to the energy, mineral and waste sectors, has acquired maintenance engineer AJS Contracts for £4.6 million

  • Marketing communications company Aegis Group plc has bought Swedish sponsorship and experimental marketing business Jamterud, Jiffer & Partners

  • Tikit Group plc, a software provider to law and accountancy firms, has purchased TFB Group for £7.4 million in cash and shares. The acquired company provides management services to law firms

  • Broker Jelf Group plc has acquired Clarke Roxburgh for £18.3 million, strengthening its existing general insurance and wealth management capability whilst adding employee benefits, healthcare and commercial finance to its offering

  • Insurance company Groupama UK has bought Choicequote Insurance Services through its subsidiary GAN UK

  • Engineering consultancy Grontmij has bought commercial and contract consultancy Trett Consulting

  • Self-serve coffee business Coffee Nation has been bought by private equity firm Milestone Capital Partners via a secondary management buy-out (MBO). The deal valued the £20 million turnover business at approximately £25 million


Deals in the pipeline:

  • Spiritel plc, a business communications service provider, is set to expand its offering with the purchase of WN1 for up to £2 million

  • Ethanol Investments plc is to acquire a portfolio of assets from Libra Natural Resources plc in order to bolster its cleantech investment portfolio
