Q&A: Making the most out of blogs
Q: I want to start a blog to give updates about my business and to promote it. Is there any other content I should put in to attract the most users and to get the most out of it?
Answered by Richard Hall, partner at Ernst & Young
A blog, or a web journal, is a great way to get your companies message out to the world, You can give updates on new products or services, offers and developments in the business, and to get feedback and testimonials from existing clients. But it doesn’t have to be limited to work. Blogs allow you to provide your views on a range of issues that you and your customers may find interesting – anything from politics, technology, current affairs or entertainment.
Remember though, what you write will reflect on your business, so it might be wise to stick to subjects that at least have some relevance to the services you provide.
The ability for readers to leave comments in an interactive format is an important part of many blogs, and a great way to test what readers find interesting. You will soon learn which topics interest people.
