International Greetings buys US firm and all today’s headlines

Done deals:

Real estate investor Aisi Realty has strengthened its assets in Ukraine through buying an outdoor advertising business in Kiev for some £590,000.

International Greetings, a manufacturer of greetings, stationery and licensed published products, has expanded its operations in the US after buying New Jersey firm Glitterwrap for £4.2 million.

Oil explorer Cairn Energy has spent almost £36 million buying gas company Plectrum Petroleum and London-based MedOil.

Greenstar, a Dublin-based integrated waste management company, has strengthened its operations through buying Bailey Waste Recycling and Rainbow Refuse for £10.5 million.

Double D Food Engineering, an oven and cooker maker, has been bought by a Bonspiel Group-backed buy-in management buy-out team. Bob Petrie has become managing director with John Craig its head of finance.

Domiciliary specialist Claimar Care has completed its 12th acquisition since it joined AIM by spending £300,000 on Boundary Care.

Primary Health Properties has bought a purpose-built medical centre in Huddersfield for some £1.2 million.

Deals in the pipeline:

Australian private hospital group Ramsay Health Care has agreed to buy the UK operations of Caprio for £193 million as part of its plan to establish its business in Europe.

Concateno plc, a drug and alcohol testing investor, is to buy drug specialist Cozart for £64 million in a deal funded through a share placing.

Banking group Standard Chartered has announced it is to buy oil and gas advisory firm Harrison Lovegrove for an undisclosed sum.

Fund manager Capita is to pay £15 million for Higham Dunnett Shaw, a pensions’ administrator with offices in London, Edinburgh, Telford and Leeds.

Exhibition specialist Tarsus is to broaden its French portfolio after agreeing a £13 million deal with the Fédération Française de la Chaussure for SEPIC.
