Insurance provider Towergate Partnership has acquired the UK’s largest aviation broker, Hayward Aviation, for an undisclosed sum

Australian nursery operator ABC has acquired the UK's biggest nursery chain, Leapfrog, for £31.2 million

Precious and base metals firm Metals Exploration has acquired the remaining 15% of Philippines-based FCF Mining Corporation for £3.87 million

Private equity firm Bowmark Capital has bought Latin American restaurant chain Las Iguanas for £27 million

Exponent Private Equity has acquired Cardsave, a credit card terminal for retailers, for undisclosed terms

Online multiplayer games developer TNWA Group has acquired online community and games site Enemy Down for an undisclosed amount

US-based holiday resort company American Leisure Group has raised £75 million with a float on AIM

Straight plc has added to its environmental container solutions business with the purchase of chewing-gum bin manufacturer Gummy Bins for an undisclosed sum

Life science and healthcare venture capital investor MVM Life Science Partners has provided an undisclosed sum of early-stage funding to drug developer Heptares Therapeutics

Deals in the pipeline:

The UK arm of US-based booksellers Boarders has been approached by WH Smith & Sons, which is reportedly looking to buy the business for an undisclosed sum

Betting chain Betfred is reported to be considering an IPO worth £600 million
