Done Deals:

• Austrian-based Wienerberger has completed the acquisition of Baggeridge Brick for undisclosed terms, adding to its brick making business and saving 550 jobs in the process

• Property adviser DTZ holdings has invested $4 million (£1.97 million) in commercial real estate brokerage firm FHO Partners of Boston, obtaining the right to acquire the entire company next year

• Medical testing kit manufacturer IDS has made its second acquisition in four weeks after purchasing French-based medical instrument manufacturer Biocode Hycel for £15.5

• Barclays Private Equity has sold Direct Group, a provider of corporate and affinity services to the insurance sector, to Lloyds Development Capital for £40 million

• Next Generation Clubs’ £925 million acquisition of David Lloyd Leisure from Whitbread Plc has been completed, adding to its leisure club operations

• Real estate private equity firms Duke Street Capital and Europa Capital have completed the acquisition of CI Traders, the Channel Islands’ leading leisure operator, through Jersey-based property and leisure investor Sandpiper CI for £401 million

• Bank of Scotland Corporate has backed the £410 million secondary management buyout of property services company Apollo from Lloyds Development Capital

Deals in the pipeline:

• International Power is set to acquire Dublin-based Trinergy for £586 million, expanding its wind farm operations in Europe

• Construction group Northern Bear has raised £3.5 million to fund three further acquisitions in the Northeast by 2009

• Newspaper publisher Trinity Mirror has had to cut the value of its titles by £150 million to £450 million, but stated it was making progress on the sale

• Dawson International has announced it is in preliminary acquisition talks with China-based Lingwu Zhongyin Cashmere Company, possibly indicating the expansion of its cashmere manufacturing business

• Investment company Rutland Partners is to acquire branded household goods supplier, Pulse Home Products, and the business of other domestic appliance brands from Alba plc for £51.5 million, subject to the approval of Alba shareholders
