Berwin Group stretches its reach

Custom compounder Berwin Group has increased its turnover to some £35 million after buying Watts Industrial Polymers from Watts of Lydney for an undisclosed sum.

The deal consolidates Berwin’s business in the rubber custom compounding market and extends its coverage into new sectors. The company will now manufacturer 12 product lines from sites in Manchester and Lydney.

Berwin was supported on the financial and tax issues of the deal by its existing adviser Jackson Stephen LLP.

Its team was led by partner Andrew Tipping, who performed a tax due diligence review and advised on the structure of the deal. Audit partner Peter Atkinson compiled the financial due diligence report.
