Future Films in AIM float
Easyjet chairman and former Whitehall warrior Sir Colin Chandler is to chair finance group Future Film Group, now tapping AIM for £5 million.
Broker Arbuthnot is nominated adviser to Future Film, a leading European finance and production house for independent TV and films which has raised more than £2 billion in film finance over nine years and has helped with projects such as TV series ‘Spooks’ and 'Law and Order UK’. Chandler, a former head of export sales at the Ministry of Defence, brings his experience as past chairman of Vickers, Racal Electronics and other major groups to Future Film, which hopes to achieve a market value of around £15 million when it floats on AIM later this month or early in March.
He says he looks forward to joining the company, which ‘provides investors with an opportunity to benefit from structured film financing without the box office risks associated with direct investment in films or production companies’. Stephen Margolis, chief executive officer and currently owner of most of Future Film, argues Chandler’s private and public company experience will be ‘invaluable’ to the company.
