• UK-based insurance company Aviva has acquired ING’s non-state pension fund business in Russia for an undisclosed sum.

• AIM-listed Avocet Mining, which specialises in gold mining in South-East Asia, has acquired Oslo-listed rival Wega Mining. The terms of the deal remain undisclosed.

• UK-based telecoms company 365 IT Solutions has acquired rival 5i for an undisclosed sum. 5i will retain its name and trade as a wholly owned subsidiary of 365 IT Solutions.

• US-based car rental company Hertz has acquired Eileo SA, a Paris-based car-sharing company. The size of the deal was not disclosed.

• ClickSoftware Technologies, a US-based provider of mobile technology services, has acquired the Manchitra workforce management business from Manchitra Services. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

• Oil and gas engineering concern Plexus Holdings is bullish about the second half-year after a sharp interim profits fall. Read more
