Audemat acquires APT
French broadcasting company Audemat Group has acquired the broadcast equipment activities of Northern Ireland-based APT. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The APT product line, which comprises IP audio codecs and multiplexers, complements Audemat’s existing product range. The newly formed group aims to generate a turnover of more than £21 million by 2010.
APT sales director Kevin Campbell said: “We are excited by the synergies that will stem from combining Audemat and APT products and the solutions we shall be able to offer our customers in the next few months. The marriage of APT’s innovative, cutting-edge codec technology and Audemat’s breadth of broadcast solutions and experience will enable us to strengthen our R&D capabilities and expand our reach into new markets.”
