ScriptSwitch sold to UnitedHealth
Medical software company ScriptSwitch has been sold to the UK division of US-based UnitedHealth for an undisclosed sum.
ScriptSwitch provides software that is designed to assist GPs with patient safety information and prescriptions. The Coventry-based business was established in 2001 and now employs 45 staff. Venture capital firm Isis Equity Partners acquired ScriptSwitch for £9.9 million in 2007 and have now the exited the company in full.
Mike Washburn, CEO of ScriptSwitch, said: ‘I am looking forward to the next phase in the development of [the company] confident that we have built a robust and scalable business.’
In the three months to September, UnitedHealth reported revenue of $21.7 billion (£13 billion), an eight per cent increase from the same period last year.
