Zeon buys Doctor Who merchandiser
London-based watchmaker Zeon has acquired Wesco, a supplier of branded merchandise, for an undisclosed sum.
Wesco was established in 1987 and supplies products on behalf of brands such as Doctor Who, Simpsons and Star Wars for sale around the world.
Robert Hughes, managing director of Wesco, said that both businesses had worked in the same market for over 20 years and the combination would lead to some 'mouth-watering' opportunities.
Zeon employs 160 people and was acquired by Hong Kong-based manufacturing concern Herald Group in 1994. Herald reported revenue of HK$908 million (£72 million) and pre-tax profits of HK$164 million (£13.1 million) in the six months ending September 2009.
