SDL acquires XyEnterprise
SDL Plc, a Berkshire-based provider of translating and information management services has acquired XyEnterprise, a US-based specialist in publishing software for $14.7m (£8.9m).
As part of the deal, Kevin Duffy, the president and CEO of XyEnterprise, will become the CEO of SDL XySoft, the content management and software division of SDL. Massachusetts-based XY Enterprise generates a turnover of $9.9 million.
Mark Lancaster, chairman and CEO of SDL Plc, commented: "XyEnterprise's content management products and expertise will enable us to scale faster to meet the evolving market needs of our clients."
SDL reported revenue growth of 35 per cent to £158 million in 2008, with pre-tax profits of £19.6 million.
