Insightful deal for IHS
IHS, a provider of information on energy and security, has bought consulting firm Global Insight for $200 million (£108.5 million) in a cash-and-shares deal
Global Insight provides global macroeconomic information to corporations and governments. IHS expects Global to achieve £65.1 million in revenue in 2008.
Headquartered in the US state of Massachusetts Global Insight has some 700 employees and 25 offices in 14 countries, covering North and South America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia.
The strategic move complements IHS's business of providing economic information and analysis.
