North East businessman Bill Ward, together with partner Bob Nicholson, has bought North East Volvo from London-based car dealer Inchcape, includes five Mill dealership sites in
Ward, who previously worked as brand director for Mill Garages, is upbeat about the future of the business, despite current economic conditions.
Nicholson, who is chairman of the firm, said: “It’s great to be bringing control of Mill back to the region. We have a strong North East-based management team that has great industry experience, understanding of the company and the Volvo brand and ambitions to build a bigger dealership network. Volvo was keen to bring back regional ownership of the franchise, such was the strength of the sales team in the North East.”
He added: “I don’t care what anybody says, the North East is a fantastic place to do business.”
