TWMA in seven-figure deal
Total Waste Management Alliance (TWMA), an Aberdeen-based international environment service specialist, has bought Engineering Environmental Services (EES), a vessel-cleaning business, for a seven-figure sum.
ESS is a high/ultra high-pressure water-jetting services provider also located in Aberdeen. Owned by director Gavin Halkett and Scott Borland, TWMA’s purchase aims to increase and strengthen its portfolio.
EES staff will remain with the company while Halkett will become vice president of global business and marketing.
TWMA handles and treats waste generated by onshore and offshore drilling operations. It recently upped its international market share with the acquisition of Norwegian peer Soilcare in a $6 million deal. Based in Mongstad, near Bergen, the business is in the upstream sector with drilling waste treatment services that use TCC technology.
TWMA estimates that its annual turnover will hit £27 million in 2008, nearly double the revenues achieved in 2006.
