Buy-out firm expands into Ireland
Private equity firm Endless, which specialises in buy-outs and turnarounds, is to open an office in Northern Ireland. It will initially focus on investments within the province, with a view to a second phase of expansion into the Republic of Ireland at a later date.
The firm, which currently has offices in Leeds, Manchester and Birmingham, will be represented in Northern Ireland by senior advisers John Kernohan and Richard Gillan.
Kernohan previously represented 3i on the boards of several of its portfolio companies. In 2004 he returned to Ireland and, together with Gillan, undertook the management buy-in of a local manufacturing company. The joint managing directors exited the company in May this year.
Garry Wilson, partner at Endless, comments: ‘This move into Ireland will further strengthen Endless’ foothold within the buy-out and turnaround industry.’
Endless, a limited liability partnership which supports UK-headquartered buy-outs and turnarounds with equity and debt finance, was founded in December 2005. The firm says it plans to open an office in London in the near future.
