Augean acquires Astec

  • Hazardous waste remediation company Augean has bought Astec Chemical Waste Services in order to broaden its geographic reach and client base
  • Indian chemical group Vivimed Labs has acquired James Robinson, a supplier of photographic chemicals, hair dyes and dyes used in lenses for sunglasses, for £12.6 million
  • Jet Star Retail has purchased about 100 stores from discounted retailer MK One out of administration
  • Industrial support services group Promanex has bought niche engineering firm Coventry & Co
  • CPP Group, a mobile phone insurance, credit card and identity theft protection company, has raised £130 million to fund its expansion across Europe, Asia and North America
  • Swiss bank Credit Suisse Group has led a consortium of investors in a majority stake purchase in gambling machine supplier Danoptra, for £85 million of loan notes
  • Tower Resources, an oil and gas exploration company, has bought Comet Petroleum, a 50 per cent holder of two exploration rights in North West Africa, for up to £3 million
  • Electronic weapons systems supplier Ultra Electronics plc has acquired US-based ProLogic for up to $63 million (£32.1 million) cash, to increase its offering
  • Reinsurance broker Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group plc has purchased HWS, comprising reinsurance broker Harman Wicks & Swayne and SME insurance company Harman Wicks & Swayne International, for £8.75 million
