PH Jones reignites expansion

Heating maintenance company PH Jones has made its second acquisition in six months, with the purchase of engineering and building services firm Coolfactor Group.

The acquisition has expanded the Wrexham-based company’s operations into Kent, taking its total number of employees to 900 and its regional offices to 25. The firm’s last takeover was of electrical contractor D-tec last November, bolstering its home heating maintenance services.

The acquired company provides cooling, ventilation, data cabling installation and maintenance primarily to commercial customers across London, the Home Counties and the Midlands. The firm’s 79 staff have joined the enlarged group, with its key management also remaining in place.

Coolfactor’s managing director Tony Phillp said: “We see significant development opportunities for both companies, and we will also have the added benefits of joining a large, national organisation with the ability to target customers nationwide.”

Baker Tilly and Pennine Trent provided financial advice to PH Jones, with David Blank Furniss appointed as solicitors. Lloyds TSB backed the acquisition.
