Mfuse gambles on £2.55 million funding
A mobile gaming technology developer is to enhance its online casino offering after completing a new funding round.
Mfuse, which provides its technology primarily to the betting industry, will also increase its geographical reach after it received £2.55 million.
The funding included £850,000 provided by Bestport Ventures LLP, bringing the amount it has invested in the company to £2 million. Mfuse also welcomes new investors following the funding, including Mark Blandford, the founder of online betting company Sportingbet. He joins Mfuse’s board as a non-executive director.
“We feel that now is the appropriate time to scale up the business in order to cater for the inevitable increase in mobile phone activity as the capability of technology begins to catch up with user demand,” Mfuse chief executive Marcus Wareham said.
He added that Mark Blandford’s experience would be invaluable in his plans to develop the business.
Bestport managing partner James Stoddart said he backed Mfuse due to its strong position in the mobile gaming technology market. “This funding round will further strengthen its position and enable it to broaden its applications and services.
“We were pleased to increase our investment in such an exciting business with excellent growth prospects and are looking forward to working with Mark Blandford as part of the next phase of Mfuse’s growth,” he added.
London-based Mfuse was established in 2002 to provide secure systems for gamers to play and pay on any mobile device. Its clients include Ladbrokes, Sportingbet, Bet365, Stan James and Paddy Power.
