Sealwood buys construction chemicals company

Sealwood Group, a building repair products manufacturer, has acquired Exchem Polymer Systems (EPS), a construction chemicals specialist.

The deal will enable family-run Sealwood to extend its product range and strengthen its sales and marketing capabilities internationally. Royal Bank of Scotland provided £5 million of debt for the acquisition of EPS, formerly a division of Exchem plc and a British subsidiary of EPC Groupe.

With an 80-strong workforce and turnover of £10 million, EPS will take Sealwood to the next level and the specialist manufacturer will continue to trade as 2K Polymer Systems.

Nick Jones, RBS senior manager, said: “Having worked with Sealwood Group since its inception, we have witnessed a tremendous effort by the management team to bring it to the levels of success the company enjoys today.”
