G4S buys police staffing firm
International security group G4S is now serving the police after it bought RIG PR (trading as RIG Police Recruit).
The Crawley-based group acquired the provider of temporary and permanent staff to the UK’s police forces for an undisclosed sum.
G4S was supported throughout the transaction by Shadbolt & Co LLP, which has advised the group on several of its previous transactions. Shadbolt’s team was led by partner Caroline Abrey.
Abrey said her team had to work to a tight timetable to get the deal completed, which was achieved by working closely with the vendors’ solicitor, SJ Berwin.
RIG Police Recruit, which was sold by Bryan Lloyd and Peter Flaherty among other shareholders, has more than 11,000 former police officers and civilian specialists on its books serving forces across the UK.
