First Logistics is bought by its management and all today's headlines

Done deals:

* Vision Security Group, a provider of manned guarding and support services to blue chip organisations, is to expand its business after Lloyds TSB Development Capital invested an undisclosed sum in the business.

* Marketing specialist VK Media has received a six figure investment from NatWest to help win new business from international technology companies.

* First Logistics, a Manchester-based recruitment firm, has been bought by five of its managers after its founder decided to sell the company for £1.3 million.

* The Preston Travel Group, which owns Flybe, has continued its acquisition spree after buying Holiday City for an undisclosed sum.

* Smart & Cook, a financial services business, has bought Hull-based insurance services firm Smith Grayburn Young for an undisclosed sum.

* Blue Oar has expanded its Bristol business after it bought the investment management business of Thring Townsend.

* Amin Amiri Enterprise has backed the £5 million management buy-out of Walkers Mcr, a supplier of promotional display material.


Deals in the pipeline:

* Findel, a home shopping, education and healthcare retailer, is to buy the music wholesaling division of ChoicesUK from its administrator for an undisclosed sum.

* Distribution group Bunzl is to strengthen its operations through the proposed acquisition of Irish Merchants, a distributor in the foodservice industry.

* John Lewis is to sell textile printing firm Stead McAlpin and weaving company JH Birtwistle to a new company, Apex Textiles.

* Construction specialist Acheson & Glover is to add some of the precast concrete operations of Readymix to its portfolio in a £33 million deal.

* iimia Investment Group has agreed to buy 95% of multi-asset fund group MitonOptimal for £18.6 million in a cash and share deal.
