ICI acquires electronics firm Advanced Applied Adhesives and all today's headlines

Done deals:

Distribution and outsourcing group Bunzl plc has acquired drinks vending machine and operator Coffee Point Group for an undisclosed sum

ICI has acquired Advanced Applied Adhesives of the US for undisclosed terms to expand its Electronic Materials division

Asbestos removal firm Weldlag has undergone a management buyout, backed by the Royal Bank of Scotland and Jackson Stephen Corporate Finance

Barrett Steel Buildings has undergone a management buyout, backed by Bank of Scotland Corporate

Private equity firm Vision Capital has acquired oil services company JDR Cable for £90 million

Norway’s Ferd Private Equity Fund has acquired European Furniture Group for undisclosed terms

Furniture supplier Haskers has gone into administration with Portland Business Recovery, losing 23 jobs

Gressingham Foods has bought Manor Farm Ducklings out of administration for undisclosed terms, adding to its duck rearing and farm business

Kate’s Cakes has been acquired by Denmark’s CSM for £32 million, adding to its bakery business

Pet food manufacturer Pets Choice has undergone a management buyout for about £1 million

Food company Young’s Seafood has acquired The Seafood Company from Fishery Products International for an undisclosed sum

Engineering consultants White Young Green has completed its second acquisition in two weeks with the purchase of financial management consultants IMCL for £2 million

Crane and lifting services contractor Energy Cranes International has acquired hydraulics engineer Aberdeen Hydraulic Services for £5 million

Durham Scientific Crystals has raised £3.5 million to fund the expansion of its X-ray technology business, with plans to double its workforce to 26 by next April

Dolgarrog Aluminium has gone into administration with financial services firm KPMG

Deals in the pipeline:

Offshore Hydrocarbon Mapping is to acquire US-based Rock Solid Images for £10 million, complementing its oil exploration operations

Hampden Underwriting plans to raise up to £15 million in a float on AIM, funding the expansion of its Lloyd’s insurance business
