In today's headlines, deals signed off include Morgan Crucilbe's £71 million acquisition of NP Aerospace and insurance broker Jelf buying John Lampier for an initial £12.756 million.

Done deals:

US-based on-demand business management solutions provider Inovis has acquired Freeway Commerce, a Preston-based specialist in EDI and electronic trading systems, for an undisclosed sum

Aerospace, defence and automotive composite parts supplier NP Aerospace has been acquired by engineering firm The Morgan Crucible Company plc for £71 million from US investment firm Carlyle Group

Balfour Beatty has acquired Carillon’s Swedish rail contracting subsidiary NAP Partnership and Chris Britton Consultancy for about £9 million, adding to its engineering, construction and services group

Corporate and financial consultancy group Jelf Group plc has acquired insurance broker John Lampier for an initial £12.756 million

Specialist distribution group Diploma plc has acquired wiring and connector products supplier Cabletec Interconnect Components Systems for up to £6.7 million

Deals in the pipeline:

Cork-based based Response Group is set to continue its growth in the water and wastewater processing industry with the purchase of CSL of Carlow, Ireland for undisclosed terms

Private equity firm 3i has abandoned the sale of traffic warden, clamping and CCTV monitoring business NCP Services after selling NCP’s car park division in March

Specialist outsourced security solutions group, Servoca plc, is set to acquire health sector training and recruitment firm Windsor Recruitment for an initial £1.37 million

Media communications and market research company Aegis Group plc is set to acquire digital marketing solutions group Ion Global of Hong Kong for about £500,000

International property services company Savills plc is to acquire US-based real estate banking firm Granite Partners LLC for an initial $54 million (£26.55 million)

Marketing firm MKM Group plc has bid to acquire Leisure World Pty for up to £6.95 million, to add to its sales promotions portfolio
