In today's headlines, the management of Jemella Group, which owns women's fashion brand GHD, has acquired the business for £160 million.

Done Deals:

Media conglomerate Emap’s Irish radio station Today FM and its regional stations have been acquired by Dublin-based Communicorp for €200 million (£136 million)

Venture capitalist The Capital Fund has led a £700,000 investment in CInergy International, an online tool which acts as a customer acquisition and retention specialist

Jemella Group, which owns iconic women’s fashion brand GHD, has been bought by its management for £160 million

Attraction operator Merlin Entertainments’ sites - Alton Towers, Thorpe Park, Madame Tussauds and Warwick Castle - have been acquired by investment vehicle Prestbury in a £622 million deal

Morley Fund Management’s Severnside Trading Estate, based at Trafford ParkManchester, has been acquired by property investor and developer Brixton plc for £14.95 million

Cambridge University Press has acquired Japan-based United Publishers Services Ltd from its parent company Times Publishing Ltd of Singapore for undisclosed terms

Founder and engineering company Archibald Young has acquired Cleveland-based Peel Jones Copper Products for an undisclosed sum

Metals technology company MicroFuze International plc has acquired Western Utilities Corporation of South Africa for ZAR100 million (£7 million) and raised £2.25 million through a share placing

Weststar Holdings has been bought by private equity group ParkDean for £83 million from Phoenix Equity Partners

KL automotive has been bought by Elite Automotive Systems for an undisclosed sum, adding to its heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems manufacturing base

Media group Associated Newspapers has sold its Irish advertising title Buy and Sell for €20 million (£14 million) to Naldin

Deals about to happen:

Artificial turf company Viridion is looking to float onto AIM a year after opening its business, and plans to raise an undisclosed amount

Media group Associated Newspapers is considering offers for its classified advertising title Loot

Stockbroking firm Lewis Charles Securities plans to raise £50 million by floating its Lewis Charles Romanian Property Fund on AIM

Stockbroker and corporate adviser Collins Stewart plc will acquire US-based investment bank C.E. Unterberg Towbin’s holding company Towbin Holdings for $31.65 million (£15.45 million)

Cork-based international engineering firm Kentech is set to be acquired by Enerflex Systems Income Fund of Canada for an undisclosed amount
