Trio buy northeast surveyor

A northeast-based surveying specialist is moving to new premises after it was bought by its management. Survey Inspection Systems was sold to a three-strong team for an undisclosed sum.

The Stockton on Tees-based company was bought by Phil Burgess, Ian Vickers and Chris Darby who will now re-locate the business to new premises in the region.

The trio were backed by venture capital and private equity provider Enterprise Ventures. The group supported the deal through the Coalfields Enterprise Fund, which it manages on behalf of the Department for Communities and Local Government.

Survey Inspection Systems provides surveying and mapping services to major contractors and consulting engineers. It generates revenues of £2 million through serving companies in the rail and waterways industries.

It employs 24 people providing surveying techniques such as traditional topographic, aerial LiDAR GPS position control, CAD, asset positioning and site access planning.
