Leasedrive and VELO merge

The Leasedrive Group has become the UK’s largest privately owned vehicle lending business after it merged with rival firm VELO.

The financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed but it was backed with debt from HSBC.

The enlarged group will trade as Leasedrive VELO, managing a fleet of some 17,500 cars. VELO’s chief executive, Tony Johnston, is joining the group as chief operating officer.
