Global newswire to target business angels
A website has been launched that aims to bring companies seeking investment up to £10 million together with business angels and alternative fund managers worldwide. Growthwire’s listings are posted by professional advisers to growth companies, with investment opportunities ranging from start-ups to pre-IPO financings.
David Rose, CEO of UK-based Growthwire, comments: ‘There has always been much talk of the “equity gap”, whereby entrepreneurs find it almost impossible to source equity capital to start or grow their businesses.
‘In reality this has been an “information gap” and we aim to bridge it by providing a communications channel between off-exchange capital raisers and investors.’
Growthwire has been developed in partnership with the Growth Markets Organisation, a consortium of small-cap stock exchanges from around the world who wanted to build an information channel to distribute news of small-cap IPO filings direct to growth company investors.
