Round two of funding for Skinkers
Broadcast technology specialist Skinkers has raised $16 million (£8.1 million) from its second round of investment. The bulk of funding comes from lead investor Acacia Capital Partners, existing investor SPARK Ventures and the Skinkers management team.
Skinkers says it will use the funding to further develop its communication platform business, enhance its Live Notification Platform technology and bring to market Livestation, an interactive broadcast network for live television and radio.
Existing clients include American Airlines, Virgin Atlantic, UPS, London Stock Exchange, JC Penney, BBC, CNN and the Guardian.
Skinkers CEO Matteo Berlucchi comments that the technology helps combat ‘communication overload’ by filtering data according to what is deemed necessary. ‘Acacia, like SPARK Ventures two years ago, have recognised our unique market opportunity,’ he says.
At the beginning of the year Skinkers raised £2 million from its existing investors.
