Today’s highlights include Emap selling its Irish radio portfolio for £135 million, DTZ buying property consultant Donaldsons and Tepnel Life Sciences acquiring two food analysis businesses.

* Media group Emap has sold its radio stations in the Republic of Ireland to Communicorp Group for £135 million in cash. The portfolio comprises Today FM, FM104 and Highland Radio

* Yorkshire Building Services, a mechanical and electrical engineering specialist, has been bought by its three managers. The financial terms have not been disclosed

* Douglas Wallace, an architect, designer and project management company, has bought Belfast-based practice Ferguson Wheeler

* Real estate adviser DTZ has bought London-based property consultant Donaldsons for an initial £40 million sum

* IT services company Calyx is to be bought by Maurice Healy, its chief executive, for some £70 million after he secured the backing of private equity firm Alchemy Partners

* Shanghai Automotive, a China-based car maker, has bought the joint venture it formed with UK consultancy Ricardo for £1

* Tepnel Life Sciences has bought two North Wales-based genotyping and food analysis service businesses. The life sciences research company acquired Wildlife DNA Services and Food DNA Services for undisclosed sums

* Technology consultant VEGA Group has spent £8 million buying German IT services company Anite Deutschland

* Communications giant BT has bought London-based broadband provider Brightview for £16 million

* Onyx Scientific, a chemistry services provider to the pharmaceutical industry, has been bought by its management with funding provided by Noble Fund Managers and HSBC

* London Technology Fund, the capital’s specialist investor in new technology companies, has made an undisclosed investment in Immune Targeting Systems, a developer of vaccines for mutating viruses
