Delphic heads for Europe
MMC Ventures and The Capital Fund have advanced a combined £675,000 to HIV diagnostics business Delphic, which will use the cash to fund the roll-out of its business across Europe.
Founded in 2001, Delphic already offers a range of diagnostic services – including viral resistance testing, therapeutic drug monitoring and genetic screening – to sexual health clinics in the UK. Now, however, founder and managing director Tim Leaver says: ‘The HIV diagnostics market in the UK is mirrored across Europe, and negotiations are already underway to establish the business in other territories, particularly Italy and Spain, the largest European markets.’
‘Delphic is also well-placed to capitalise on similar opportunities in therapy areas such as oncology, fertility, diabetes and cardiovascular disorders,’ adds MMC’s Ben Richardson, ‘and we see a very bright future for the company.’
