Blooming acquisition for United Online
Done Deals
• Internet consumer products and services company United Online has completed the acquisition of FTD Group, a provider of floral-related products and services to consumers and retail florists for $754 million (£408.5 million). The group is best known for owning the Interflora brand
• United Business Media has acquired Pyramid Research, a provider of subscription market information and analysis to the telecom industry, for $8 million (£4.3 million)
• Russian residential real estate developer PIK Group has announced the acquisition of a 24 hectare plot in Krasnodar. The area will be developed with mass market housing and commercial real estate, and will form an important development area for the 2014 Winter Olympics
• AIM-listed Radicle Projects, which was set up to invest in Australian agriculture business assets, has acquired stakes in two investment schemes for a combined £1.9 million. The first acquisition is a 50 per cent stake in AHM Organic Apple Project, and the other is in AHM Early Season Apple Project 2007
• Rambler Media, a Russian internet brand has acquired the remaining 49 per cent of Price Express, a price comparison site, for an undisclosed sum
• Frank, a German engineering company has sold a 60 per cent equity stake in its business to Proventec, a provider of steam cleaning and coatings technologies for an undisclosed sum
• Latvian cable television operator IZZI SIA has been acquired by Contaq Latvian Cable, Argus Capital and Syntaxis Capital for an undisclosed sum
• Solid Concepts, a rapid prototyping and manufacturing company has finalised its acquisition of Composite Tooling Technologies. The deal will expand their cast Urethane products while adding fibreglass reinforced plastic to their stable
• The US-based division of Serco Group, an international service company has announced that it is to merge with SI International, a company which provides government and industry with computer information technology services
In the pipeline
• Axon, a UK-based technology developer and consultant has agreed to be bought by Indian software group Infosys for £407 million
• Five airlines are reportedly in the running to acquire a $229 million (£124 million) stake in Austrian Airlines
