• Bahrain venture capital firm Arcapita has bought rail transport company Freightliner for £71.1 million

• SCH Distribution, part of Birmingham IT giant SCH has bought ISI for £2 million in order to increase its offering

• IRF European Finance Investments has acquired a further 5.71 million ordinary shares in MIG, a Greek investment holding company, for €27.5 million (£21.7 million) in cash

• Digital marketing company Isobar has bought search engine marketing firm Aposition in France, which has gross assets of €2.7 million (€2.1 million)

• Biocompatibles has purchased BrachySciences for up to $21.6 million (£10.9 million) in order to increase the offering of its medical devise business

• Petrofac, an oil & gas facilities service provider, has acquired oil & gas engineering consultant Eclipse Petroleum Technology for up to £16 million
