SAL taken over by management
Done deals:
- SAL Abrasive Technologies Group has been subject to a management buy-out, backed by Royal Bank of Scotland
- Environmental services firm SLR Consulting has bought civil and structural engineer FMH Consulting Engineers
- Palm oil and rubber cultivator Anglo-Eastern Plantations Plc has acquired 30,000 hectares of land in South Sumatra, Indonesia, for $7.7 million (£3.9 million)
- Holiday and travel operator Holidaybreak has bought Hertford Travel Group, the holding company of educational tour operator European Study Tours, for more than £4 million
- Industrial manufacturer the Weir Group Plc has bought Texan oil and gas products manufacturer Mesa Manufacturing for $40 million (£20.3 million)
Deals in the pipeline:
- Defence group Chemring has agreed to acquire Martin Electronics, a US manufacturer of decoy countermeasures and energetic materials, for $70 million (£35.5 million)
