Done deals:

  • Engineering and construction firm Balfour Beatty plc has acquired German engineer Schreck-Mieves a for €36 million (£28.4 million)
  • Travelzest plc, a travel group offering specialist travel programmes, has purchased the Canadian luxury cruise retailer The Cruise Professionals for up to CAD 14.5 million (£7.25 million)
  • Aegis Group plc, a marketing communications group, has bought marketing consultancy Globlet in Thailand for £100,000
  • Windmill Housing Association and Manchester Methodist Housing Association have merged to create a combined housing management group
  • Private equity house 3i has bought the UK arm of Finnish pipe manufacturer Uponor Corporation, Radius, for £100 million, including Radius Plastics in Northern Ireland
  • HGS in Leighton Buzzard, One Stop Supplies based in London and Birmingham, and Origin in Bristol have merged to create a logistics business worth some £12 million
  • Dubai-based global investor Economic Zones World has acquired Milton Keynes logistics company Gazeley in a deal reportedly worth between £299 million and £398.5 million
