Entrepreneurs set for expansion
Done deals:
- Entrepreneurs Trevor Staton and Julian Gray have bought Intermet Refractory Products to increase its offering to metal-casting businesses
- Engineering & construction group Balfour Beatty plc has purchased US-based Douglas E Barnhart through its technical services arm Heery International, for $116 million (£49.5 million)
- Precious mining company Hochschild Mining plc has acquired the San Felipe project in Mexico for $51.5 million (£26.4 million)
- ITE Group plc, an emerging and developing markets exhibitions specialist, has bought 75 per cent of Russian construction exhibition firm Primexpo and has the rights to buy the remainder of the company
Deals in the pipeline:
- JBW has agreed to acquire T J Meagher. The new company will be called JBW Group and will allow the acquirer to expand from a debt enforcement agency to debt management
