• Yorkshire haulage company TAL Logistics has bought rival company Philips of Seahouses

• Nottingham entrepreneur Chek Whyte has purchased construction group Thomas Fish for some £500,000

• Software supplier Rockwell Automation has acquired Incuity Software in order to expand its FactoryTalk software suite

• Abbott Group has gone into administration through CLB Coopers, with the loss of 140 jobs at its windows and doors factory

• Medical insurance and care advisory service the Private Health Partnership, part of Skipton Building Society group, has entered the self-pay sector of the private health market with the acquisition of Medical Care Direct

Deals in the pipeline:

 

• RDF Media, which makes programmes including Wife Swap and Faking It, received a management buy-out proposal yesterday from a consortium that includes the company's executive directors
